Linda L. Monfort, 85, formerly of Spencerville, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Wapak Manor in Wapakoneta.
Linda was born on December 4, 1940 in Lima, OH to the late Donald Gale and Wilma Hazel (Camper) Hall. She attended Central High School in Lima until she married the late Thomas Alfred Monfort who passed away on July 3, 2008. Together they had five kids and Linda stayed home raising their kids and taking care of their home. She later worked as an aid for Roselawn Manor in Spencerville.
Linda was a member of the Monticello United Brethren Church for many years and then later attended Botkins United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, camping, and fishing. Some of her greatest memories were the fishing trips up to Canada. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her five children, Thomas J. (Risa L.) Monfort of Anna, Sally (Allen) McMichael of Spencerville, Timothy L. (Renee) Monfort of Sidney, Tammy (Bruce) Rodden of Lima, Richard L. (Shelly) Monfort of Winchester, IN; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Nancy Eagy of Elida, and Lila Jean Pitney of Columbus Grove; 2 sisters-in-law, Elsie Stemen of Pawpaw, IL and Nancy Sidey of Spencerville; 1 brother-in-law, John Monfort of Spencerville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; siblings, Bud Eugene Hall, Jack Lee Hall, Geraldine Ann May, Donald Gale Hall Jr., and an infant sister, Betty Hall.
There will be a visitation from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Her visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Hartford Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Linda and her family. In honor of Linda, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 E. High St., Lima, OH 45801
