Obituary

SPENCERVILLE — Lorene Mueller, 89, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on April 25, 2018. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Brookdale Memory Care Facility in Marietta, Ohio.

Lorene was the eldest daughter of Albert Fulton Anderson and Hazel Vaughn Staats Anderson and the granddaughter to paternal grandparents Jefferson Davis Anderson and Leona Burroughs Anderson and maternal grandparents Early Staats and Lucy Belle Myers Staats.

Lorene was born in Belleville, West Virginia on November 30, 1928. Lorene started her education by attending a one room school on Willow Run near Belleville, West Virginia. She was awarded West Virginia's prestigious Golden Horseshoe in 1944 while attending the 8th grade in Wetzel County. Lorene attended Bartlett High School (Bartlett, Ohio), Parkersburg High School (Parkersburg, West Virginia), and graduated from Marietta High School (Marietta, Ohio) class of 1947.

Later in life Lorene decided to become a nurse. She attended the Marietta Memorial Hospital's Licensed Practical Nursing school where she would graduate with honors in 1963.

Lorene was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple in Lima, Ohio. She loved listening to gospel music and was a great alto singer herself. She was an active member of the Lima Baptist Temple choir when it was under the direction of Terry Smith .

Lorene's life was one of doing small things with great love. Her devotion was evident in the decades of selfless care she gave from her heart. She truly loved God and the people he placed in her life. She will be greatly missed by all.

She lived for those who loved her, whose hearts were kind and true, for the heaven that smiled above her and awaited her spirit too, for all the human ties that bind her, for the bright hopes left behind her, the tasks her God assigned her and the good that she could do.

Left to cherish her memory are her 3 children and 3 stepchildren, Phyllis Ann Barnt of Batesville, Arkansas; Carl E. Pryor (Rhonda) of Vincent, Ohio; David L. Pryor (Traci) of Bartlett, Ohio; Diane Sherer Mosier (Gary) of Van Wert, Ohio; Michael Mueller (Gail) of Xenia, Ohio; Nancy Mueller of Lima, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, 1 sister, 5 brothers and over 88 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; her husbands (Haskell Pryor, Kenneth D. Sherer, Robert L. Mueller), 3 brothers (Darrell, Edgar, and Harold Anderson), two sister-in-laws (Nora and Audrey); 1 brother-in-law (James), 1 niece and 3 nephews.

Visitation will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Sunday (4/29) at the Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, Ohio. The funeral service will be 10:30 on Monday at the Bayliff Funeral with Pastor Gary Hohman from the Lima Baptist Temple conducting.

Following the service, burial will be in the St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church cemetery in Landeck, Ohio

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Hospice nurse (Tana Baker) for her extra special care of Lorene.

The family also expresses their special appreciation to the Brookdale staff, most especially those that work (aides and nurses) in the Memory Care Unit for the loving care they gave our mother these past 2.5 years.
