LORENE PITTMAN
SPENCERVILLE — Lorene M. Pittman, 82, was called home, following a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's at 11:28 PM January 1, 2015 in the Sara Jane Care Center in Delphos, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Pittman was born to Elijah "Liget" and Louannia Hensley Gibbons in Bell County, KY. November 22, 1932. On February 14, 1951 she married to Ed Miracle who preceded her in death. On September 10, 1958 she married Oliver Pittman who preceded her in death October 22, 2012. Also preceding her in death were her parents and brothers Otto, Hobert Bishop, Orvial Ray, Lowell Thomas, Stergial, and General Gibbons.
Lorene was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her flower beds, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family. A very compassionate person, she loved serving others and worked as a STNA over 30 years, retiring from Roselawn Manor in Spencerville in 1994. She was a member of the Spencerville Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her children; Ed (Dorothy) Miracle of Rockford; Beverly (Bill) Collins of Lima; Kimberly Favourite (Richard Ball) of Spencerville and Lesa (Byron) Fetzer of Delphos, Ohio; a sister; Nancy Ellen (Arless) Taylor of Tazwell, TN; two sisters-in-law; Patricia Gibbons of Elida, Ohio and Betty Wilder of Pine Grove, Ky; grandchildren; Scott Miracle;Tom (Peggy) Collins; Heather Zimmerman; Liz (Ted) Nolette; Jason (Jennifer) and Jenna Croft; Brittany (Tony) Wourms and Spencer and Rachel Fetzer; Great Grandchildren; Andy Miracle; Billy Zimmerman; Charlie and Teddy Nolette; Isabella Wourms and Madison Croft.
Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2015 from 2 until 6 PM with funeral services following visitation at 6 PM at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating.
