Obituary

Lorraine A. Radler, 84, of Spencerville, Ohio, passed away at 2:50pm on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Roselawn Manor in Spencerville.

Born on April 6, 1942, in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Winfield "John" Gilson Jr. and the late Clara (Kuchenbrod) Gilson. Lorraine grew up in the New York area and then her and her family moved to New Jersey. She graduated from Keyport High School in 1959. Following graduation, she began her career as a typist at Con Edison in New York, where she proved herself a capable and dedicated worker. In time, she became a homemaker and built a life centered on the people she cherished most, devoting herself wholeheartedly to her family. Those who knew Lorraine understood that her family was her greatest joy and the foundation of everything she held dear. Lorraine had a gentle appreciation for life's simple beauties. She loved yellow roses and had a fondness for horses.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Delphos. Above all, her Catholic faith was the guiding force of her life. A devout Catholic, Lorraine drew strength, comfort, and purpose from her deep relationship with God, and her faith shaped the way she loved and cared for those around her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she now rests peacefully in the Lord's embrace.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, John Radler Jr.; her sons, John (Jill) Radler III, Joseph (Robin) Radler, Jeffrey Radler, and James (Anahis) Radler; her daughters, Jennette (Tony) Kulik and Christine Radler-Thomas; her sisters, Virginia McQueeney, Joan Lorenc, and Deborah (Edwin) Swantek; and her brother, John Joseph "JJ" Gilson. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and extended family members who will carry her memory forward with love. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfield "John" Gilson Jr. and Clara (Kuchenbrod) Gilson and her brothers- in-law Richard McQueeney and Thomas Lorenc.
