Spencerville; Madyson Elaine Snyder, 17, of rural Spencerville, passed away in a tragic car accident on November 28, 2021. She was born on January 12, 2004 in Crown Point, Indiana.
Maddy grew up in Spencerville, Ohio and attended Spencerville High School where she achieved great scholastic success. As a part of the choir, Maddy loved to help with school musicals. She had a gift for Mathematics and planned on becoming an engineer.
Maddy loved music; she could always be found singing. She played the flute, ukulele and kalimba. She had a passion for aesthetics, often color-coding her books, phone and sweaters. Maddy had a great sense of style and took pride in her appearance. She loved Christmas and the holiday spirit. She loved her church, God, and people.
Maddy was extraordinarily sweet and was in constant consideration of the people around her. She had a vibrant sense of humor and everyone knew her laugh. She was a light to all the people that knew her.
Surviving Maddy are her parents, Thomas E. and Lillia L. Verdugo Snyder and her siblings, Hannah, Thomas, Lukas and Titus Snyder, all of Spencerville; her grandparents, Sergio (Irma (d)) Verdugo of Tucson, AZ. and Thomas and Patricia Snyder of Wolcottville, IN.; aunts Julie (Timothy) Palmer and Kimberly (Miles) Hegyi, both of Green Bay, WI. and uncles, Jonathan (Jennifer) Snyder of Shell Lake, WI. and Obed Verdugo of Tucson, AZ.; first cousins, Dallas Palmer, Jessica Palmer, Alyssa Palmer, Analise Hegyi, Eva Hegyi, Wyatt Snyder, Jacob Casas, Absalan Casas, Alexandra Casas, Andrea Casas, Amelia Hobbs and Isaiah Verdugo.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday in the Church on the Rock in Lima, at the corners of North and West Streets, with Pastor Rodney Donahoo officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford Cemetery, N.E. of Spencerville on St. Rt. 81.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time at 1 PM Friday in the church sanctuary.
