MARGIE HARBERT

SPENCERVILLE — Margie E. Harbert, 92, died at 12:45 p.m. June 3, 2015, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville, with her family at her side.

She was born July 8, 1922, in Elgin, to Oran R. and Belva M. (Binkley) Slentz, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 14, 1942, she married John W. Harbert Jr., who also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Harbert was a 1941 graduate of Spencerville High School. She love playing the piano from the time she was a child. She attended Agape Fellowship Church and was a 70-year life member of American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary, a life member of VFW Post 6772 Auxiliary and a longtime member of Delphos Eagles Auxiliary 471. She also was a member of Spencerville Chapter 130 Order of Eastern Star. She had resided at Roselawn Manor for five years.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Bev) Harbert, of Buckland, and Craig (Lori) Harbert, of Erlanger, Kentucky; a daughter, Connie Lee, of Spencerville; four grandsons; seven granddaughters; 34 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, twin Martha Fast, of Spencerville, and Lois (Richard) Boroff, of Spencerville.

She was preceded in death by a son, John R. Harbert; a sister, Betty Sawmiller; an infant brother, Harold Franklin Slentz; a son-in-law, David Lee; and an infant great-grandson.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Pastors Phil Lee and Jim Menke will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a service by the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries will be held at 8 p.m.
