Haller
October 6, 1948 – March 24, 2025
Marilyn K. Haller passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Spencerville, Ohio, at the age of 76. She was born on October 6, 1948, to Jay R. and Ruth E. Lichty of Spencerville.
Marilyn was first married to William Koon II, with whom she had one daughter, Andrea. On November 5, 1995, she married Steven W. Haller, sharing many cherished years filled with love and companionship.
A proud graduate of Spencerville High School in 1967, Marilyn pursued higher education at The Ohio State University, earning an associate's degree. She dedicated many years to a successful career with State Farm Insurance before retiring in 2005.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lima, Marilyn found great joy in her church community. She actively participated in the Serendipity Sunday School class, Women's Bible Study, and several book clubs. Her passion for service extended beyond the church—she was a founding member of the Spencerville Garden Club and served as president of the Spencerville Band Boosters in 1993.
Marilyn embraced life with enthusiasm and a love for adventure. She treasured opportunities to travel and explore new places. A dedicated supporter of her family's endeavors, she never missed a concert, recital, or sporting event for her daughter or grandsons. Music and literature were also close to her heart; she found joy in playing the piano and immersing herself in a good book.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; daughter, Andrea (Adam) Gillespie; grandsons, Kade and Silas (Adelyn) Gillespie; sister, Margo (Gary) Metzger; Brothers-in-Law Joe Zofkie; Sisters-in-Law Nancy Jordan, Peg Haller; nephews John (Angie) Dickman, Ben (Lindsay) Haller, Roscoe (Diana) Holt, Todd Hammons, Jon (Erica) Zofkie, Bryan (Brandi) Zofkie, Travis (Emily) Huber; and nieces, Deb (Dale) Wittenbrink, Melina (Mike) Metzger-Rashid, Jamie (Omar) Haller-Smith, Sarah Gingerich, Lindsey Haller, and Kelly (Kyle) Damschroder. She was preceded in death by her parents; Father-in-Law Robert Haller; Mother-in-Law Irene Haller; Brothers-in-Law Bill Jordan, Gary Haller, Gary Dickman; Sisters-in-Law Dorothy Dickman, Christine Zofkie, Janice Haller; and nephew Jay Metzger.
