Lima; Marjorie W. (Lee) Coffman, 96 and a half, of Lima, passed away in her home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in Lima.
She was born in Lima on February 10, 1928 to the late Harry E. and Ada (Dawson) Lee. She married Harold (Bud) Coffman on August 3, 1947. They were together 60 years when Bud passed away on May 10, 2007. Marjorie graduated from Lima South High School, Class of 1946. She worked a number of years as a secretary at the Lima Ordnance Depot (Tank Plant). Helped open the Penny's store in the Lima Mall. She was a member and past president of the Alpha-Mu-Omega Sigma Sorority that sponsored "Dogs for the blind". She belonged to 3 women's circles & the Truth Seekers, helped with funeral dinners and was on the prayer chain at 1st Baptist Church in Lima. She was a member of the Excelsior Club in Spencerville. She was an avid reader, an excellent seamstress and liked to oil paint.
Marjorie is survived by three children, Richard "Dick" (Kathy) Coffman of Hoagland, IN, Janie McBride of Lima, Connie Coffman of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Bryan (Kelly) Coffman of Auburn, IN, Blake (Megan) Coffman of Hoagland, IN, Emily McBride of Lima, and Megan (Chris) Mottet of Lexington, KY; eleven great grandchildren, Luke, Carter, and Emma Coffman, Ian McBride, Edick and Willow Shaner, Grant and Grace Coffman; numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Roger Lee and Harry D. Lee; and two sisters, Deloris Wita and Ruth Eleanor Lee.
There will be a visitation from 11:00-1:00 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Rev. Mary Wood (her niece) officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville are caring for Marjorie and her family. Memorial contributions can be made to 1st Baptist Church in Lima.
