MARTHA GOLIVER

ELIDA — Martha L. "Marty" Goliver, 76, of rural Elida, died at 12:52 PM Sunday, May 8, 2016 at St. Rita's Medical Center with her loving family at her side following a sudden illness.

She was born April 24, 1940 in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of Robert Charles and Dorothy May Straw Mills, who are deceased. On March 26, 1960 she married David A. Goliver, who survives, along with six children; Faith L. (Mark) Sellers of Delray Beach, Fl; Tim D. (Cheryl) Goliver and Ellen M. (David) Beals, both of Elida; Ava K. (Trevor) Hunt of Columbus Grove; Peter A. (Tracy) Goliver of Boynton Beach, FL. and Anna R. (Justin) Lewis of Lima; 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons and a sister; Aggie Craycraft of Trenton, Ohio and a brother; Robert Mills of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by a sister; Virginia Bennett.

She was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended 3 years at Wittenberg University in Springfield. She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at the Apollo Career Center for 5 years. She was a long time member of the Lima Baptist Temple and its Hospitality Ministry and was well known for her cooking on many mission trips.

Marty was a loving, giving and caring woman, who was always quick to send a meal or a casserole with her ministry of food. She always had a kind word and a listening ear. Her warmth, laughter and love for the Lord touched all those who knew her and she will be truly missed.

At her request, the family has had a private memorial service at the family home.

There will be no public visitation or funeral services.

Memorial contributions in Marty's name may be sent to the Temple Christian School in Lima.

Arrangements are being completed by the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.
