WAPAKONETA — Mary Elizabeth Bowersock, 95, of Wapakoneta and formerly of Spencerville, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, was called into heaven at 5:10 AM Wednesday March 14th, 2018 at the Roselawn Manor in Spencerville.
Mary was born May 6, 1922 in Spencerville to the late Donnie LeRoy and Nena Florence Lies Wilson. On November 23, 1941 she married Lorenzo Marvin Bowersock who preceded her in death on February 6, 1994. They were married 53 years.
Mary was a 1940 graduate of Spencerville High School. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary and a member of the Eagles Lodge, Aerie 691 in Wapakoneta. She worked at the Ohio Decorative Products and then retired from Springborn Laboratories , now known as Charles River, both in Spencerville.
She is survived by her children; Marilyn (Bill) Ringwald of Spencerville; Mary Kay (Philip) McKinley of Platte City, MO.; Sondra (Norman) Heidlebaugh of Spencerville; Susan (Bruce) Rinehart and John (Shelley) Bowersock, all of Wapakoneta; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; her sister Edna Marcele Whitling of St. Marys and several nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Union Church, North of Buckland. She enjoyed baking cookies, making her famous chocolate delight and remembering all her family and friends birthdays and anniverseries with a card and a hand written note. She had a green thumb and especially loved orchids. Her greatest joy was her family.
The family wishes to exress "Sincere Thanks" to Mary's neighbors, her church family, the Roselawn Manor and Interim Hospice employees for her special care and friendship.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Saturday March 17th in the Bethlehem Chistian Union Church (09005 National Road, Wapakoneta) with Pastor Kent Place officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckland Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Saturday from Noon until 2 PM at the Bethlehem Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Christian Union Church or the the Auglaize County Council on Aging.
