SPENCERVILLE — Mary E. Bowersock, 97, of Spencerville, passed away peacefully in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville at 9:24 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2018 with her family at her side.

She was born July 24, 1920 in Spencer Twp., Allen County, the daughter of Carl F. and Neva C. Rupert Walther, who are deceased. On October 6, 1940 she married Donald E. Bowersock, who died October 27, 1984.

Surviving are her son; Jack P. (Judy) Bowersock of Spencerville; her granddaughters; Lisa (Randy) Stoll of Westerville and Angie (Jess Falin) Bowersock of St. Petersburg, FL.; three great grandchildren; Caroline, Kat and Will Stoll; and her brother; James "Jim" (Jean Bucher) Walther of Lima. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law; Ellen Walther.

Mary was a 1940 graduate of Spencerville High School and worked 37 years at the former Hayes-Albion, Trim-Trends Corp. in Spencerville in the Plating and Annodizing Dept. She was a member of the Bowersock Bros. VFW Post 6772 and the American Legion Post 191 Auxiliaries and also the Ida Rebekah Lodge #391, all of Spencerville.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Rev. John G. Medaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 PM Friday and after 9:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
