SPENCERVILLE — Mary Brooks passed away on December 29, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born on January 26, 1928 to Wilbur and Bessie Strohl Foster. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Charles Foster and William (Dorothy) Foster, her husband Robert Brooks and her daughter Paula Swick.

She is survived by two children; Pat (Brooks) Johnson and Robert Brooks and her son-in-law; Jim Swick; six grandchildren; Alicia Perry, Jim (Erin) Swick, Joe Swick, Cody Johnson, Robert Brooks and William Brooks and three great grandchildren; Casey and Morgan Swick and Kyndall Perry.

Mary was a loved member of the Spencerville Community. She enjoyed people and was well known for her fun loving sense of humor and her kind heart. She spent many hours over the years visiting residents of the local nursing home, often taking them her homemade cookies. She loved to fish and sew and was a member of Agape Fellowship Church in Spencerville . Mary was a 1946 graduate of Spencerville High School.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Burial will be at 11 AM Thursday in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 PM Wednesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.
