Spencerville:

Mary Sharon (Vanpelt) Burnett  passed away peacefully on April 14 ^th , 2021. She was with her youngest son at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, OH.

Mary was born to Walter and Katharine Vanpelt on November 23 ^rd , 1937 in Dayton, OH. She married her husband, John Burnett, on March 20 ^th , 1963. John Burnett passed February 15 ^th , 2015. They were just shy of their 52 ^nd wedding anniversary.

Mary and John met in the Naval Reserve. She devoted many years to the Christian Science Reading Room and the Anderson's. She was a very dedicated mother and equally a devout woman of faith. She was kind, caring and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading the Bible and taking care of stray animals.

Survivors include two sons, John Burnett Jr., of Dayton, and Clayton Burnett, of Converse; a son-in-law, Steven Stacy, of West Harrison, Indiana; six grandchildren, Holly Rieger, Katurah Shane, Alex Burnett, Emma Burnett, Faith Burnett, and Matthew Burnett; and two great grandchildren, Kevin Steil, and Luna Steil.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Burnett; a daughter, Julie Burnett; and a brother, Gordon Cypress Vanpelt.

Services will be held at Northwestern Ohio Field and Stream Association in Spencerville Saturday April 24 at noon.
