Obituary

Spencerville;   Mary Lou Hardesty, 72, of Spencerville, passed away at 7:10 PM Monday, November 15, 2021 in the Shawnee Manor, with her sister Betty and grandson Troy at her side,  following and extended illness.

She was born August 29, 1949 in Kendallville, IN., a daughter of the late Luther and Tina   Handshoe Coburn. She was also preceded in death by her step-father,   Kenneth Sturgill and step mother Martha Coburn.

Surviving are her sons; Rick L. (April) Hardesty of Spencerville and Michael D. "Mike" Hardesty of Forest;   5   grandchildren, Troy (Dani Goetz) Hardesty of Spencerville, Samantha (Cody) Leffman of Holland, MI., Brittney Hardesty of Spencerville, Spenser (Adam) Silver of Marysville and Hunter Hardesty of Shawnee;  10 great grandchildren and one on the way; her siblings, Betty (Ted Detrick) Croft of Spencerville, Pastor Steve (Kathy) Coburn of Mendon, Phil (Tammy) Richardson of Wapakoneta and  Dan ( Alicia) Coburn of Edgerton and her sister-in-law Pauline Richardson of Celina and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her siblings;   Jeff Richardson,  Kenneth "Bonz" Richardson  and infants Luther Coburn, Jr. and Delana Fay Coburn.

Marys' work was in customer service in the food and hotel businesses.  Her love of life was her family, playing games, cards and writing poetry when she was younger.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 PM Friday and after 10 AM Saturday  in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
