SPENCERVILLE — Melva L. Moorman, 89, of Spencerville, passed away peacefully at 9:40 AM Friday, May 18, 2018, in the Roselawn Manor where she had resided for four years.
She was born August 4, 1928, in Spencerville, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lucille Golliff Arthur. On April 6, 1947, she married Harold F. "Mort' Moorman, who died October 22, 1998.
Melva is survived by two sons; Steve Moorman of Spencerville and Doug (Michele) Moorman of Longview, TX. and a step-daughter-in-law; Dimple Moorman of Lima; two granddaughters; Rachel (Travis) Mrazek of Longview, TX. and Katlyn (Tim) Bailey of Scottsdale, AZ.; two step grandsons; Rish (Sue) Moorman of Lima and Shawn and his wife Blanka Korbova Moorman of Columbus; great grand daughters; Emily Mrazek ,Olivia Lee Bailey and step-great grandson; Shane Moorman; her brother; Jack (Chris) Arthur of Kansas City and her sister-in-law; Joy Arthur of Spencerville.
Preceding her in death is her son Thomas Moorman and step-son Bob Moorman and siblings; Robert (Carol) Arthur, Thomas Arthur and Shirley (Robert) Miller.
She had attended the Spencerville Schools and had worked at Arthur Cleaners, the IGA and DeVilbiss Egg Company, all of Spencerville.
Melva enjoyed spending time with her family on Bois Blanc Island in Michigan, bingo, crafts and playing cards.
Private family funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
