Elida;  Michael A. Williams, 75, of Elida, passed away suddenly at 12:57 PM Monday, June 14, 2021 in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born August 3, 1945 in Lima, a son of the late Richard Earl and Mary Catherine Caprella Hardesty, Sr. On September 20, 1975 he married Debra Kay Coffman, who survives in Elida.

Also surviving are two daughters; Dr. Dara Ann (Jason Coggins) Williams of Knoxville, TN. and Dena Lynn (Dave) Mabry of Murfreesboro, TN. and granddaughters Brooklyn Decker and Harper Decker and his siblings; Richard E.( Diann) Hardesty, Jr. of Toledo, John G. (Erin) Hardesty of Elida and Mary Catherine (William "Bill")  Bible of Lima. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ed and Mildred "Mid" Graessle.

Mike was a 1964 graduate of LCC and attended OSU, Lima Campus and served in the U.S. Marines. He retired with 32 years  service at the Dana Corp. as a Quality Control Inspector.

He was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the UAW at Dana and the Eagles Lodge in Lima. Mike was a car enthusiast, a fanatic Notre Dame Football fan and enjoyed the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns. In earlier years, he and Deb enjoyed Fast Pitch Softball,  traveling three states with their daughters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 PM Friday in the Saint Charles Church.  Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, East of Spencerville, where graveside  military rites will be conducted by the Marine Honor Guard and the Spencerville Veterans.

The family will receive friends from noon until service time Friday in the Gathering Room at Saint Charles Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
