Miguel Angel Martinez Serna, 50, of Waynefield, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 in Lima during an accident at work.

Miguel was born on April 19, 1974 in Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Rodolfo Martinez Espinoza and Rebeca Serna who survives in Hildalgo. Growing up in Hidalgo, he attended Colegio Joige Maldonado through secondary school. He made his way to the United States where he started his family and began working for Wright Mulch. After 20 plus years with Wright Mulch, he took employment with Lima Pallet and then started working for Resource Recycling in Lima.

Miguel loved watching fútbol, golfing, fishing, cooking, and his cat Sasquatch. He was very family oriented and loved spending time with his children. He made sure to try and call his mother every day and never went more than a couple days without speaking to her. Typically he would make atleast one yearly trip back to Hildalgo.

Miguel is survived by his mother, Rebeca; two children, Brisa Martinez of Spencerville and Miguel Angel Martinez Jr. of Mount Vernon; his brother, Rodolfo (Diana Cisnevos Coronado) Martinez Serna of Dallas, TX,; and three sisters, Gloria (Noah Maldonado) Martinez Serna, Rebeca Martinez Serna, and Erica (Ivan Cavlos Gonzales) M. Martinez all of Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodolfo Martinez Espinoza.

There will be a visitation from 11:00-6:00 p.m. followed by his funeral service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. There will be another service and burial in Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Miguel and his family.

Martínez, todas de Hidalgo, Nuevo León, México. Le precedió en la muerte su padre, Rodolfo Martínez Espinoza.
