SPENCERVILLE — Mildred "Middy" Rupert, 70, of Spencerville, passed away peacefully with her family at her side in her home at 4:05 AM Friday, November, 3, 2017.
She was born December 14, 1946 in Rockfork, Knott County, KY., a daughter of Douglas and Genevene Chaffin Prater, who are deceased. On March 21, 1964 she married James K. "Kenny" Rupert, who survives, along with three children; James D. (Sherrie) Rupert of Germantown, OH.; Tammy Rupert of Lima and Teresa (Richard) Temple of St. Marys; eight grandchildren; Natasha (Geddy) Sherer of Spencerille; Zachary (Jennifer) Rupert of Germantown; Casey Carper of Washington, D.C.; Jake McCarty of Columbus; Dawn Rupert of Battle Creek, MI.; Rupert "Josh" Davenport of Chicago; Ryan Pitchford of Dayton and Cody Temple of St. Marys; 7 great grandchildren; eight siblings; Felsie Cassidy of Sidney; Janice Foos of Delphos; Quintin (Sue) Prater of Lima; Lucredia (Donnie) McCormick, Patricia (Dave) Kohlhorst; Lavonda (Ronnie) Slone and Thelma (Denis) Fisher, all of St. Marys and Lydia (Gary) Pennington of Sidney.
Her two brothers Clinton and Clayton Prater preceded her in death.
Middy was a seamstress for many years at the former Mari-Stan Baby Clothes Company in Spencerville and later for the Apex Bag Company in Spencerville and Wapakoneta.
Her true love in life was to be with her kids and grandkids and sewing beautiful quilts for them. She was a life member of the Bowersock Bros. VFW Post 6772 in Spencerville.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Rev. Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Spencerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 6 PM Sunday and after 10 AM Monday at the funeral home.
