NORBERT LANDWEHR
MENDON — Norbert H. Landwehr, 86, formerly of Delphos, died at 12:26 a.m. Oct. 9, 2015, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys following a sudden illness.
He was born March 22, 1929, in Cloverdale to William and Clara Mersman Landwehr. On Oct. 16, 1954, he married June Whetstone, who died April 25, 1980.
Mr. Landwehr retired after 34 years from the Continental Can Co. in Van Wert as a press operator. He enjoyed classic cars, vegetable gardening, crafts, including needlework and lap weaving, his citizens band radio, and electronics. He enjoyed being ornery and giving away what he grew and made, and loved to eat at Bob Evans.
Survivors include a daughter, Maria (Neal) McCune with whom he lived near Mendon; two grandchildren, Kristin McCune and Matthew McCune, both of Mendon; a great-grandson, Sean McCune; and his brother-in-law, Norman Fleming, of Rockford.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Fisher, Helen Fleming and Alice Youngpeter.
Services will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. The Rev. Ed Bray will officiate. A private burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
