Binkley-Winkle

Norma Jean Binkley Winkle (Monfort) was born to James Ross and Carrie Elizabeth (Dixon) Monfort on October 4, 1934, on the farm in Allen County, Ohio. She passed away to her Lord's embrace on June 15, 2024. She was 89 years old and a native of Spencerville, Ohio, and a resident of Cridersville, Ohio.
Norma Jean was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was active in Girl Scouts, her Church and with family. She had a love for nature and enjoyed family camp-outs, fishing, gardening and travel. Her hobbies included watching her children and grand-children's sport and music events, reading, puzzles and crocheting. As long as she was able she took each grandchild on a special trip adventure.
Her proudest moment was graduating from Licensed Practical Nurses' Training in Glasgow, Kentucky, after her children were grown. She worked as an LPN at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, OH, and Roselawn Manor in Spencerville, OH. She retired in 1999.
Norma is survived by her children, Starla (David - deceased) Amos, Folsom, California, Jean (John – deceased) Slone, Wapakoneta, OH, Bruce (Diane) Binkley, Spencerville, OH, and Leanna (Kevin) Fosburgh, Las Cruces, New Mexico; thirteen (13) grandchildren; five (5) step-grandchildren; twenty-seven (27) great grandchildren and (four) 4 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Elsie (Chet-deceased) Steman, Paw Paw, IL, Nancy (Bill-deceased) Sidey, Spencerville, OH; and one brother John Monfort, Spencerville, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Binkley (10-1-96), her second husband, Charles James Winkle (8-29-15), her parents and a brother Thomas (Linda) Monfort.
She was loved and will be missed through daily thoughts and pleasant reminders of a sister, mother and friend.
Contribution Information – Contributions in her memory can be made to Kossuth Methodist Church or Spencerville Friends Church.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Ft. Amanda Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024 with Elder Kevin Fosburgh officiating. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Norma and her family.
