SPENCERVILLE — Norma J. "Jean" Smith , 86, passed into the Loving Arms of Jesus at 9:15 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, with her loving family by her side.
She was born October 1, 1931 in Dola, Hardin County, a daughter of the late Walter and Bertha E. Dysert Johnson. On February 19, 1952 she married Richard C. "Dick" Smith, who died January 6, 2007
Surviving are her five daughters; Patty (Danny) Madden of Newark; Judi (Ron) Perrine and Dee (John) Whitling, both of Spencerville; Janet (William) Brunk of Columbus; and Sherri Kalb of Columbus; 9 grandchildren; Ron ( Emily) Perrine, Jr. of Lima; Keith (Jeniece) Jackson of Grove City; Tara (David (d)) Gillispie of Spencerville; Jessica (Richard) Reager of Spencerville; Richard "Andy" (Jamie) Whitling of Oregon; Brittany Myers of Hilliard; Brandon Keiber of Columbus; Ashley and Austin Keiber, both of Spencerville; great grandchildren; Miranda and Page Perrine; Harlie Jackson; Keaton Whitling Gillispie;Courtney and Kailee Jackson; Madison and Anna Whitling; Zachary Lilly and Landyn Gillispie; Ella Gillispie; Karmyn and Kendall Perrine; Gracie Mullins and Mykolas Jackson. two great great grandchildren; Kadon and Teddy.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Jackie and Richard Johnson; Pauline Edminston; Betty Johnson and Marilyn Scripture.
A homemaker, Jean was a graduate of the Homer, MI. High School. She was a long time member of the Only Believe Ministries at Botkins. Her true love was baby sitting for her many grandkids and the neighbor kids.
Celebration of Life services will at 1 PM Friday in the Only Believe Ministries Church with Pastor Peter Doseck officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Only Believe Ministries Church.
