SPENCERVILLE — Olvene C. Hill, 95, of Spencerville and formerly of Orlando,FL.; passed away peacefully in the Roselawn Manor in Spencerville at 4:50 AM Sunday, April 1, 2018, with her daughter at her side. She had resided there for nearly 7 years.
She was born March 7, 1923 in Lima, a daughter of the late Everett E. and Virginia J. Reeves Schneider. She was married to John Diehl, Louie Felton and Hershel Hill, who are deceased.
Surviving are her children; Barbara Patterson of Spencerville; Dee (Keith) Sumeral of Savannah, GA.; Carol Bevins of Russells Point; Tom (Edie) Felton of Melbourne, FL. and Doug (Vickie) Felton of Clinton, TN. and two step-sons; Terry (Mattie) Hill and Bobbie Hill; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her brothers; Glenn and Moreau Schneider and granddaughter Denise Ware.
She was a 1940 graduate of Lima Central High School. She had worked in several Lima restaurants, such as the Senate, Milano's, the Range Steak House and The Pines, and in 1968 she owned Jim's Lunch on Wayne Street. She later moved to Florida for 25 years where she retired in 1989 as membership coordinator for Orlando's PBS Television Channel 24.
After coming back to Spencerville, she was a member of the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary, having served as secretary. She enjoyed bowling, golf, crossword puzzles and her cats.
Funeral services will be 4:30 PM Thursday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Jim Fletcher officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roselawn Manor Activity fund.
