ORAL LAYMAN

LIMA — Oral Miller Layman, 91 of Lima and formerly a 60 year resident of Chicago, died Thursday morning at the Elmcroft Care Center in Lima, where he had resided for nearly 6 years.

He was born May 16, 1925, the tenth child of Irvin Robert and Mary Etta Miller Layman in Sugar Creek Twp., Allen County.

He was a 1943 graduate of Gomer High School and had attended The Ohio State University. He was employed until 1951 with the Greyhound Bus Lines and then moved to Chicago to work for Superior Coffee & Tea Company and later retired from Burhop Paper Company. He enjoyed many sports.

He is survived by 2 sisters; Margarert (Marion) Buckles residing at Otterbein Cridersville and Virginia (Louis( dec'd) Forney of Lima and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are 8 siblings; Martha (Chester) Wolf; Clara (Howard) Brunk; John (Evelyn) Layman; Esther (Earl) Mohler; Aaron (Jane) Layman; Arthur (Treva) Layman; Noah (Glenda) Layman and Philip (Helen) Layman.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, July 6, at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Rev. Andrew J. Atkins officiating, with burial to follow in the Ash Grove Cemetery, North of Lima on Cable Road.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Lima Rescue Missison.
