PHYLLIS BOYER
LIMA — Phyllis L. Boyer, 87, of rural Lima, died al 3:25 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Otterbein-
Cridersville Senior Care Center, where she had resided with her husband and son.
She was born May 28, 1929 near Lafayette in Allen County, the daughter of Irwin Henry and Ethel Laura McClure Lutz, who are deceased. On July 2, 1949 she married Bob G. Boyer, who died April 1 , 2015.
Phyllis is survived by her son, William John "Bill" Boyer of Otterbein-Cridersville and her daughter; Jeannie Kay (John) Livingston of Arlington; 5 grandchildren; Kate (Chris) Mason of Arlington; Kristen Livingston of Newport, KY.; Michael Livingston of Ottawa Hills, Ohio; Marissa Livingston and Jenna Livingston, both of Arlington; 2 great grandchildren; Alexis Nicole Mason and Carlee Elizabeth Mason and a brother; Dwight Lutz of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by a brother; Walter (Phyllis) Lutz and her sister-in-law; Donna Lutz.
She was a graduate of the Lafayette High School and had attended Ohio Northern University. She had worked at The City Loan and for eleven years had served as Amanda Twp. Clerk.
Her memberships are the Shawnee United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women; Allen County and Ohio State Trustees and Clerks Assn.; Allen County Organ Club and the Northwest Ohio Hammond Organ Club and the Allen County Board of Retardation. For 24 years she was a 4 H adviser and had volunteered at Camp Robin Rogers and West Ohio Food Bank. Being very musical, she taught piano lessons for 20 years. She had played piano and organ at her Shawnee Church and was also a member of the Bell Choir at Shawnee and also at her church in Florida. She was an avid reader, quilter, seamstress, knitter and enjoyed playing the Clarinet.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday in the Shawnee United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery near Spencerville.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 PM Friday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville and after 9:30 AM Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Ohio Food Bank, Shawnee United Methodist Church, St. Rita's Hospice or to Otterbein-Cridersville.
