Randall "Randy" Jay Arthur, 69, of Wapakoneta, Ohio passed away on February 4th, 2022 at his residence. Throughout his Parkinson's Disease, his family supported him.
He was born to the late Robert Joseph Arthur and Carol Mae Metzger Arthur on January 5th, 1953 in Lima, Ohio and grew up in Spencerville, Ohio. He was a 1971 graduate of Spencerville High School. He was a welding instructor at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center and was a gun safety instructor. He graduated in 1995 from Reppert School of Auctioneering, Inc. and held a license to auctioneer in Ohio and Indiana. In 2009, Randy retired from Honda of America Engine Plant as a foreman in the Tool and Die Department.
He married Donna Jo Mack on September 24th, 1978, who survives him. Randy is also survived by his sister, Pam (Dave) Smith, his children, Joe Arthur, Jayne Arnold, and Jim (Samantha) Arthur. He wanted to be called Pappy by his five granddaughters, Claire and Aubrey Arnold, and Natalie, Cheyanna, and Leondra Arthur.
Randy held memberships at the Northwest Ohio Field and Stream, National Rifle Association, Tri State Gun Collector Life Member and attended Bethlehem Christian Union Church. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved to travel to Bois Blanc Island, Michigan. There, he spent time with his family at his father's cabin, which he helped design and build. Randy was known for his love of auctioneering, fishing and trap shooting at the Northwest Field and Stream, working in his shop, and watching documentaries about History.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb.10, 2022, at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Kent Place officiating. Burial is to follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The family highly recommends those in attendance to wear face masks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Northwest Field and Stream, Mercy Health Lima Hospice, or Bethlehem Christian Union Church.
