Obituary

Richard "Dick" Eugene Fryer, 85, of Spencerville passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Vancrest of Delphos.

Richard Eugene Fryer was born on April 12, 1938 in Spencerville to the late Kenneth Eugene and Edna V. (Graham) Fryer. Dick retired after 38 years from the Allen County Engineers as a crane operator, welder, and building bridges. He went on to mow grass for Spencer Township for 16 years. His interests were horses and had his own team of work horses for many years. For over 10 years, he was a member of a wagon train.

Dick is survived by his children, Teresa A. (Carl) Wienken of Venedocia, Richard Bradley (Shana) Fryer of Venedocia, Katrena F. Laber of Fayette; one son-in-law, James Archer of Ohio City; six grandchildren, Amanda M. (Nickolas) Ledbetter of Stafford, VA, Joseph E. Wienken of Spencerville, Chad A. (Amanda) Fryer of Ft. Wayne, IN, Devlin Hinojosa of Laredo, TX, Tazmin J. Archer of Ohio City and Desirae N. Archer of Ohio City; one great granddaughter, Freya Fryer of Ft. Wayne, IN; and one sister, Irene O. (Fryer) Grear of Spencerville. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 40 years, Linda L. (Binkley) Fryer on April 9, 2008, daughter Kersten Fay Archer passing on June 7, 2022, and his sister Viola E. Broders.

Per Dick's request, there will be no viewing. His grave side services will be on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Spencerville Cemetery across from his childhood home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Van Crest Delphos, 1425 East 5th St., Delphos, Ohio 45833, Activity Department.
