Rickey was born December 1, 1956 in Lima, OH to Richard (Dick) and the late Ruth Harter.

A graduate of Spencerville Schools, he was a 4th generation butcher while working at most notably Harter and Son's in Spencerville, St Mary's Beef Company, OH and Hi Point Beef in Bellefontaine, OH.

Rickey always enjoyed fishing, refinishing and wood working, working in the outdoors, cooking, baking and barbecuing for family, friends and especially his grandkids.

Along with his father, Rickey is survived by his brother and his sister in law Bob and Anne Harter, his children Shawn (Davina) Harter, Shannon Harter, Shane (Kelly) Harter, Shelley (Mike) Hartley, Shay (Abbey) Harter and his grandchildren Tayler (Jesse) Price, Zakkary, Anikyn & Abel Harter, Jacob, Eli and Kyra Harter, Zoe, Zane, Zaria and Zaiti Harter, Lyric and Mason Hartley, Jace, Trace and Avery Harter, and Great Grandson Axl Brayton.

Aside from his mother, Ruth he was also proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother Sadie Mulholland, paternal grandparents Ted and Evelyn Harter, Granddaughter Hailey Harter, his Uncle and Aunt, Charley and Sylvia Harter, his Aunt and Uncle, Dixie and Jim Bennet and a daughter in law Ashley (Parsons) Harter.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 until 7 PM this Friday at the Friend's Church on Mulberry Street in Spencerville.

In lieu of flowers/gifts preferred contributions may be made to the Spencerville EMS.
