Robert N. "Whimpy" Rahrig, 92, Spencerville passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Kessler Estate/ Elmcroft Care Center in Lima.

Robert was born on August 9, 1931 in Delphos to the late Lowell B. and Alice (Brinkman) Rahrig. He grew up in Delphos and attended Delphos Jefferson. At 18, he married the love of his life, Juanita Mae Sakemiller, on February 26, 1950. Robert went on to work as a machinist at Fruehauf Trailer in Delphos for 25 years.

Rob was a big sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the professional teams from Cincinnati and The Ohio State University regardless of which sport he was watching. He loved to go fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Robert is survived by four children; Roger (Mary) Rahrig of Spencerville, Pam (Ron) Shook of Spencerville, Mike (Sam) Rahrig of Spencerville and Rodney (Norma) Rahrig of Spencerville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; four great great grandchild; one step brother, Dan (Edy) Gribler of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Arthur Gribler; wife, Juanita; brother, Richard L. (Joanne) Rahrig; sister, Ellen E. "Susie" Dickman; step brother, Gary Gribler; and two sons, Jeff (Cathy) Rahrig and Bob Rahrig.

Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Robert and his family. In memory of Robert, memorials may be given to St. Rita's Hospice.
