CRIDERSVILLE — Robert S. "Bob" Ralston, 68, died at 2:42 p.m. Oct. 7, 2013, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Lima to Robert C. and Edna Mae Goodwin Ralston, who preceded him in death. On Oct. 7, 2006, he married Beth Ann McCain, who survives.
Mr. Ralston was a 1962 graduate of Spencerville High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving four years mainly in Adak, Alaska. He was a truck driver for Ernst Concrete, Lima, and owned and operated B&B Used Cars, Lima, from 1990 until his retirement in 2006. He was a pilot of his Piper Tri-Pacer plane. He was a member of Christian Assembly Church, Westminster. He enjoyed auto racing at tracks in Lima, Eldora and Findlay.
Survivors also include four children, Keith Ralston and Aaron (Cathy Root) Ralston, both of Lima, Roy MacDonald, of Cincinnati, and Joseph (Tami Hall) MacDonald, of Van Wert; six grandchildren, Brittany, Taylor and Parker Ralston, Amanda Ralston, and Ben and Charlie Bishop; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Christopher; and six siblings, Arliss Herron, of Kossuth, Wendell (Linda) Ralston, of Van Wert, Clem (Debbie) Ralston, of Mendon, Craig Ralston, of St. Marys, Roberta Whited, of Milo, Mich., and Bart (Candy) Ralston, of Lima.
He was preceded in death a sister-in-law, Velma Ralston; and a brother-in-law, Chuck Whited.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Pastor Tom Shobe and Pastor Rich Biglawski will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mendon.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
