Spencerville;     Russel Lee Shark, 84, of rural Spencerville, passed away at 3 PM Saturday, June 18, 2022 in the Roselawn Manor in Spencerville, following a sudden illness.

He was born March 12, 1938 in Lima, the son of the late Gail Scranton and Edna Violet Burke Shark. On June 25, 1960 he married Armeda May Butler, who survives, along with four children; Teresa (John) Bienz of Mendon, Steven Lee (Dana) Shark of Wapakoneta, Sherry (Robb) Burgei of Delphos and Sheila Kay (Scott) Guffey of Wapakoneta; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and two on the way.

Russel is preceded in death by his step-father, Clarence Miller; his sister, Lucile (Walter Eugene) Miller and infant sister Alice Shark.

He was a 1956 graduate of Spencerville High School.  Following high school, he served in the Ohio National Guard Active Duty at Fort Knox for six months, completing his seven year duty in 1963. Following training in Tool and Die work, he worked 13 years at the former City Tool and Die Works in Lima and then retired with 32 years service at the Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville.

Russel was a member of the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191.  He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sporting events and enjoyed any kind of auction and work around the house.

Funeral services will be 7 PM Wednesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Charles H. Johnson officiating, followed by Military rites by the Army Honor Guard and the Spencerville Veterans. Burial will be at a later date in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
