Our beloved Ruth Ann Croft Stewart "Ruthie", 86, passed peacefully on January 2, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Ruth was born on July 3, 1938 in Spencerville, to the late Forest and Ethel Marie Croft. Ruth attended Spencerville Schools, and later found employment at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. There, she met the love of her life, S/Sgt. Edgar Paul Stewart and the two wed on April 19, 1957.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, Timothy Stewart and Shawn Stewart, and daughter, Teresa Stewart Taylor. Ruth was a grandmother to nine grandchildren; Jason (Jenn) Stump, Adam (Val Parsell) Stump, Christopher Stewart, Kayla Stewart, Shelby (Randy) Maurer, Tylyn Taylor (Mark) Ribeiro, Alexis Taylor, Zachary Stewart, and Aiden Stewart. Ruth is also survived by her seven great grandchildren; Haileigh Stump, Julian Calvelage, Weston Blymyer, Gracelyn Stump, Avery Stump, Luzia Ribeiro, and Edee Taylor-Rogers.

Ruth was a kind and loving mother and grandmother who cared for her family and friends deeply. Ruthie was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and never missed a game.

Ruth worked at the U.A.W Hall for over 30 years, where she played a critical role in the planning and execution of the Labor Day Parade Celebrations in Lima, OH. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruth is preceded in death by her three brothers Robert W. Croft, Ted L. Croft, and Douglas J. Croft; and her sister, Bonnie Whyman.

Visitation will be held at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, OH on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 4:00-6:30 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will take place at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Ruthie and her family.
