Ruth Evelyn Glasco Stephenson, 90, of Spencerville, passed away at 1:35 a.m. on June 18, 2021, in the Primrose Assisted Living facility in Lima, Ohio following a short illness.

She was born June 8, 1931 in Spencerville, Ohio, daughter of the late Marion D. and Fredonia B. Glasco

On Feb. 20, 1953, she married Bill Stephenson. Surviving are three children, Scott O. (Pam) Stephenson of Shawnee, Eric D. (Kathleen) Stephenson of Delphos and Sheila R. Stephenson of Kimball, Tenn.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death was her son, Billy Joe Stephenson Jr. on Feb. 15, 2013 and her husband, Billy Joe Stephenson, Sr. on Apr. 22, 2018.

Evelyn was a 1949 graduate of Spencerville High School in Spencerville.

She retired after several years of service at the Spencerville Schools as a library assistant and study hall monitor.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spencerville and enjoyed flower gardening.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Jim Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery. No service will be held at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Spencerville.
