July 27, 1937 – November 16, 2018
SPENCERVILLE — Sally Ann Farnholtz, 81, passed at 9:09 p.m. Friday in the Roselawn Manor, Spencerville, where she had resided over the past five years. Her family was by her side. She married Robert R. Farnholtz June 12, 1959 and he died September 6, 1990.
Sally graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1955 where she met her husband, Bob and both worked at her father's Dairy Isle to earn money for college. She graduated from Heidelberg College in 1959 with a BA in Education and taught for 30 years. The last 24 years, she taught in Spencerville teaching young children to read in the Title I Reading Program. She was honored by the Ohio State Department of Education in 1986 for its Chapter I program operations. She was a member of the Phi Sorority at Heidelberg as well as the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Ohio Education Association, National Education Association and the Retired Teachers of Allen County. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Spencerville where she served on the Board and sang in the Choir for many years. Sally loved her family and loved to travel.
Surviving are her daughter; Donna(Mike) Neibauer of Farmington Hills, MI; Son Douglas (Lisa) Farnholtz of Plain City, OH.; grandchildren; Lauren and Nicholas Neibauer and her brother; Raymond (Kathy) Schroer of Sioux City, IA. and sister; Susan (Steve) Woolwine of Fairborn, OH. and sister-in-law; Sandra Schroer of Lancaster, OH.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, November 19, 2018 in the Spencerville United Church of Christ with Pastor R. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, East of Spencerville.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Sunday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville and after 10 AM Monday at the church.
