Obituary

Sharon L. Fissel-D'Andrea, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Sharon was born on November 3, 1942, in Venedocia, Ohio, to Ira W. and Mildred M. McDonel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lois J Greber; her first husband, Robert E. Fissel; and her second husband, William P. D'Andrea Jr. She is survived by her sister, Vickie D Kuhn.

Sharon graduated from Spencerville High School, where she was a proud member of the marching band. It was there that she met her first love, Robert E. Fissel, with whom she shared many cherished years and raised three children: Terri J. (Tom) Marchal, Mark W. Fissel and Robert D. "Doug" (Deb) Fissel, all of whom survive her.

Sharon went on to marry William P. D'Andrea Jr., with whom she shared additional years of companionship and love.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sharon's greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her three children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense happiness to her life.

Sharon dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse. She served as a nurse manager at Wuesthoff Progressive Care Center, where she was respected for her compassion, leadership, and commitment to her patients and colleagues.

Sharon had a deep love for life and a special passion for Ohio State Buckeyes football. She rarely missed a game and took great pride in cheering on her team.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Sharon now walks the streets of gold, reunited with those who preceded her in death.

Until we meet again, she will forever remain in our hearts.

A private family service will be held at a later date with burial at Hartford Cemetery near Spencerville. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Sharon and her family.
