Sharon Jane Skinner, 81, died at 8:53, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville. She was born September 13, 1937, in Knightstown, Indiana to Philip and Almira Stevens, who preceded her in death. On June 26,1960, she married Don Skinner, who survives,
Mrs. Skinner retired in 1996 as a secretary for Elide Local Schools, working in both the athletic office and the Middle School office. She was an avid Elida sports fan following every team that her children participated on or coached for.
Sharon enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Branson, Missouri, with her husband Don and later enjoyed many years of living at Indiana Lake. Pontoon rides around the lake and sitting on her sun porch watching the boats go by became her favorite pasttime. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Wendy Edwards of Spencerville and Sue Skinner of Lima; a son, Jeff (Scheri) Skinner of Hilliard; two sisters,. Karen Kunde of Hudson, Florida and Beth Nell of Brownsburg, Indiana; three brothers, Mike (Barb) Stevens of Frankford, Illinois, Tim (Nancy) Stevens of Falls Church Virginia, and Mark (Syd) Stevens of Savannah Georgia; sister in law Mary Jane Skinner of Circleville, sister in law Carole Skinner of Circleville; 3 grandchildren, Jason (Jamie) Edwards of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Ryan (Heidi) Edwards of Wapakoneta and Blake Skinner of Hilliard; 5 great grandchildren, Gavin Edwards, Braeden Edwards, Jensen Edwards, Trevin Edwards and Zella Moye. She was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Bob Kunde; sister-in-law Pat Stevens; brother- in-law Ward Skinner; sister- in-law Betty "Frizz' Sabine; brother-in-law Charles Sabine; brother-in-law Max "Porky" Skinner; sister-in-law Rebecca 'Becky" Middlestead and brother-in-law Ted Middlestead.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spencerville EMS or Grand Lake Hospice.
