Shayna Marie Russell, 19, beloved daughter of David Russell, Jr., and Nicole Smith of Spencerville, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Dayton Childrens' hospital in Dayton.

She was born Tuesday, April 6th, 2004.

She is survived by her loving parents; by her siblings Brooke Russell, Brodie Russell, Sawyer Stocklin, and Emery Goff; by her stepsiblings, Xander Goff, Jacob Goff, Owen Goff, Eli Holsinger Jr., Tyler Holsinger, and Kelly Holsinger.  She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Lisa Hakey, paternal grandparents David & Yvonne Russell of Spencerville; Uncles, Damian Smith, John Smith, and Zach (Crystal) Russell; Aunt, Megan (Jake) Augsburger, great grandparents Dennis & Patty Ebbeskotte as well as many beloved cousins, great aunts, great uncles. She is also survived by her, childhood best friend, Leigha Shatzer, Boyfriend, Kyle Smith, and her Bonus Parents, Ethan Goff, and Jamie Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Hakey, her great grand-mother, Rosemary Hirn, and her great grand-father, Wesley Mann.

Shayna was the absolute sweetest and most loving person.  She was as beautiful inside, as she was out.  She was never seen without a smile and man could her smile light up an entire room.  Shayna loved caring for others and always took the time to make sure that you felt special.  She was very giving with her thoughts, love, hugs, and time.  She had many interests, but  loved spending her time crafting, baking, doing her nails, playing with her little sisters, snapchatting her friends and family, playing with her beloved animals, spending time with her family and friends, and singing her heart out to all of Taylor Swifts' songs.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., followed by her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating.  Burial will take place following the service, at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Shayna and her family.  The family requests to please wear yellow, as it was Shayna's favorite color.
