SHERILYN EVANS
SPENCERVILLE — Sherilyn Sue Evans, 58, passed away Thursday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2017 at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was born Jan. 17, 1959 in Lima, the daughter of Dit and Janice C. Crawford Evans Jr. She was the loving caregiver to her mother, Jan Croft, and father, Jay Croft, who survive in Spencerville. Her father, Dit Jr., and mother, Jean Evans, survive in Somerset, Kentucky. Also surviving are her daughter, Angela M., and son-in-law, Allan West of Celina and son Daniel Radebaugh of Lima; two grandchildren, Brittany West of Celina and Tyler Matte of Cridersville and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Richard J. Evans, Timothy D. Evans and Jeffrey D. Evans.
Sherilyn was a 1976 graduate of Spencerville High School. After high school, she married George E. Matte and had her daughter, Angela. She then married Scott Radebaugh and had her son, Danny. She was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a loyal friend to many and adopted mom and grandma to many others. She had a heart of gold and loved to help anyone who asked. She never judged or condemned and had the true gift of giving unconditional love to everyone whose life she touched.
In addition to being the caregiver for her grandmother and her mother and dad, she had worked as a cook in Lima and the Farmer's Table in Spencerville. She loved to spend time with family, cook and garden. Music was a passion all of her life and a central part of her family. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and riding Harley Davidsons.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with Rev. Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
