Obituary

Spencerville; Shirley Kay Washburn-Clement, 78, of Spencerville, passed away peacefully at 3:50 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the Roselawn Manor in Spencerville, with her family at her side.

She was born July 3, 1940 in Van Wert County, a daughter of the late Harley Kelby and Violet Almira Wheeler Washburn. On April 17, 1971 she married Donald B. Clement, who survives.

Also surviving are her children; Anissa K. (Kelly) Essinger of China; Andrea R. (Steve) Mangette of Delphos and Matthew D. Clement of Spencerville; her grandchildren; Ethan and Jacob Mangette and Abigail, Jillian and Caroline Essinger; her siblings, Doris (Orland) Freewalt of Mendon and Donald (Helen) Washburn of Celina and sister-in-law; Tillie Washburn of St. Marys. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary (Bill) Houser and brother; James Washburn.

A homemaker, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed babysitting and had formerly worked at the Ohio Decorative Products. She was a 1958 graduate of Mendon-Union High School.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Andrew J. Atkins and her son-in-law Kelly Essinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 PM Thursday and after 10 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Monticello United Brethren in Christ Church.
