Shirley D. Daley joined the love of her life, Charles Lewis Daley in the kingdom of heaven on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Sage Park Memory Care in Gahanna, OH. She was surrounded by her loving daughters.

Shirley was born on January 20, 1936 in Sunbury, OH to the late Warren J. and Sylvia P. (Snyder) Lambert. She was united in marriage to the late Charles Lewis Daley on January 26, 1957. She was an active stay at home mom for many years until she joined her mother-in-law in operating The Needle Craft Shop. There she pursued her love of knitting and her passion for quilting. She went on to be a realtor with Cowan Reality in Lima until her retirement.

Although she retired from work, she did not retire from life. She was always involved with Girl Scouts and continued leading her granddaughter's troop for several years. Shirley was a Phi Beta Si Sorority Chapter president in Lima. She was also an experienced horsewoman and belonged to the Ohio Horseman Council. She and five other OHC ladies rode on horseback from Lima to Old Man's Cave in Logan, OH, sleeping in barns and campfire cooking on the three-day journey. Shirley's love for quilting continued for many years and she enjoyed her weekly quilt club meetings, always learning new techniques. Of all her accomplishments, her family was her greatest treasure.

Shirley is survived by her four children, Steven A. (Melissa) Daley of Spencerville, Shonda A. (Steven) Whittaker of Somerset, KY, Sabrina A. (Phil) Baker of Johnstown, OH, Stephanie A. Carnes of Wapakoneta; three siblings, Gary D. (Karen) Lambert of Wapakoneta, Jerry A. (Susan) Lambert of Ward, AK and Heather W. (David) Long of Spencerville; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Daley, her sister Ruby A Schooler, son-in-law, Herman Carnes and granddaughter, Jacqueline Carnes.

There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home Spencerville OH.  Pastor Jim Fletcher will be officiating the service with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima. OH.
