Obituary

Stephen J. Stanfield, 58, of Lima, formerly of Spencerville passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at his home.

Stephen was born on May 19, 1966 in Niceville, FL to William Allen Stanfield and Linda K. Morrison. In 1984, Steve graduated from Spencerville High School and enlisted in the United States Airforce until his honorable discharge in 1990. Having various jobs throughout his life, he spent most of it screen printing for his own business, American Screen Printing.

Steve loved his children, grandchildren and family above all else. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, which, aside from his children, he saw as one of his greatest accomplishments. Traveling, sightseeing, fishing, playing rugby, and watching football were some of his favorite past times. He had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh with his quick wit.

Stephen is survived by his parents; children, Ashley (Jon) Musser and Alex (Kaylyn) Stanfield both of Lima; eight grandchildren, Tyler Musser, Kaden Musser, Kyndryk Musser, Aiden Stanfield, Kamden Stanfield, Preslee Stanfield, Killian Musser, and Kenzley Musser; two siblings, Liz (Tom) Bacome and TJ Stanfield both of Spencerville. He was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Lehmkuhl.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00-7:00 with his memorial service starting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Faith Christian Church in Lima with pastor Terri Haithcock officiating. Military Honors will be performed by Spencerville veterans and the United States Airforce. Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville is caring for Steve and his family.
