Sue Ann Laman, 60, of Spencerville, passed away 11 AM Thursday morning, November 17, 2022 at the Joint Twp. District Memorial Hospital in St. Mary's, following a year and a half battle with cancer.
She was born July 7, 1962 in Lima, the daughter of Gerald L. and Carol A. Trippy Laman. Her father is deceased and her mother, Carol Miller , survives in Spencerville. Her step-father LaVern "Unk" Miller is also deceased.
Also surviving are her brother, Russell "Rusty" (Shelley) Laman of Maryland and nieces Lacey and Jackie Laman and her aunt Sandy DeCamp of Spencerville. Her uncle Jim DeCamp is deceased.
Sue Ann was a graduate of Spencerville High School and Apollo JVS in Food Management. She worked 40 years as a cook at the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville.
She had attended the Friends Church in Spencerville. She was presently serving as President of the American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary and was a Life Member and Chaplain of the VFW Post 6772 Auxiliary. She used to participate in the Powder Puff bowling league and enjoyed regular trips to Harris Casino in Tucina, Mississippi with close family and friends.
Joint Memorial services of the two Auxiliaries will be at 7 PM Sunday with funeral services to follow at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Pastor Andrew J. Atkins will officiate the funeral service.
The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time Sunday in the funeral home. Burial services will be 9 AM Wednesday in the Spencerville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Auxiliary or to the Spencerville EMS.
