Terry Gene Laman, 73, of Spencerville, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Roselawn Manor in Spencerville.
Terry was born on September 3, 1952, in Lima, to the late Paul and Doris (Moorman) Laman. He grew up in St. Marys and graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School in 1970. After high school, he began working as a mechanic for Koening Cheverlet, then Spencerville Auto Repair and then retiring from St. Marys Chrysler after about 20 years. On February 4, 1984, he was united in marriage to the late Tandy Reen Baker.
For the most part, Terry was a home body and enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandkids. In his earlier years, he would take fishing trips to Canada with the guys and was very active with field and stream outside of Spencerville.
Terry is survived by his two children, Katie Ann Laman and Cody James (Stephanie) Laman both of Spencerville; five grandchildren, Chloe Rigdon, Charles Daniels, William Rigdon, Jonathan Rigdon, and Silas Laman; two great granddaughters; five siblings, Tony (Robin) Laman, Bruce (Barb) Laman, Linda (Roger) Clausing, Beverly (Don) Fortman, Pam (Steve) Whetstone; brother-in-law, Bud (Jodi) Baker; and mother-in-law, Peggy Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tandy: and father-in-law, Don Baker.
There will be a gathering of friends and family from 10:00-2:00 p.m. followed by his memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with pastor Andrew J. Atkins officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Spencerville Cemetery. Thomas E.
