VIOLET BAUER

MENDON — Violet L. Bauer, 98, of Celina and formerly of rural Mendon, died at 10:27 PM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Mercer Health Center in Coldwater, with her family at her side.

She was born October 16, 1916 in Spencerville, a daughter of Floyd Alvin and Elva Mae Schwartz Wilkins, who are deceased. On November 10, 1940 she married Maurice "Mike" Bauer, who died May 2, 2006.

She is survived by 4 children; Loretta Stanley of Rockford; LaDonna (John) Williams of Springfield; Harold (Monna Lu) Bauer of Lexington,KY. and Gerald (Kathleen) Bauer of Celina; 7 grandchildren; 4 step grand children; 10 great grand and 6 step-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and 4 step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law; Jerry Stanley; and 3 sisters; Velma Kemmann, Cladys Opal Wilkins and infant Genevieve Wilkins.

Violet was a 1934 graduate of the Spencerville High School. She had been a member of the Kossuth-Zion United Methodist Church. In retirement they traveled in their motor home to Florida and Texas. She enjoyed fishing and sewing and playing Euchre.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Wednesday in the Thomas E; Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Tony Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 until 3 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
