Obituary

SPENCERVILLE — Wesley Gordon Mann, Sr., 86, of rural Spencerville, passed away Friday evening, October 13, 2017 at his residence with his daughter at his side following a long illness.

He was born October 14, 1931 in Lima, a son of Gordon L. and Dessie V. Nevergall Mann, who are deceased. On February 14, 1981 he married Carolyn Jean Simindinger Mulholland, who passed away March 22, 2004.

Surviving are his children; Wesley G. Mann, Jr. of Spencerville; Kevin L. (Josh) Fittro of Lima and Lisa Goodrich of Spencerville; his step children; Dorothy (Paul) Seibert of Virginia and Nancy (Robert) McMichael of Spencerville. his grandchildren; Nicole Russell and Damian Smith; 9 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; Shayna, Brooke and Brodie Russell and Dawson Smith; several step great grandchildren; his brother David Mann of Spencerville and his sister; Eileen (Bud) Camper of Stockton, CA. He was preceded in death by his step daughter; Shirley Bacon and his sister-in- law; Mary Mann.

Wesley was a 1949 graduate of Shawnee High School and then served in the Army. He retired after 32 years as a lathe operator at the former Teledyne Corp. in Lima.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in Delphos and the NRA. In addition to his family, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Wright Cemetery near Converse.

The family will receive friends from 2/4 and 6/8 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
