Elida;    William "Bill" Bell, Jr., 91, formerly of Spencerville, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side at 3:41 AM  Friday,  June 10, 2022 in the Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was born November 13, 1930 in Spencerville, a son of the late William and Rhoda Ross Bell. On June 24, 1953 he married Jean Swickrath, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughters,  Dona (Don) Kihara of Wapakoneta and Lois (Pat) Wainscott of Elida; grandkids and families, Brian Wainscott, his children, Michael (Lezlye) , Anna, Lauren and Ryland Wainscott; Darren (Gracyn) Wainscott; their children, Owen and Beau Wainscott and Matt Watterson, his sons,  Collin (Abby Howard) Watterson their child, Ezrah Howard and Nolan Gillespie.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Murland, Dortha, Winford, Patrick, Rambo, Harold, Fred, Edna, Elsie and Norma.

He was a proud Army Veteran. His Army service included a tour of duty in Korea during the war.  He was a Life Member of the Bowersock Bros. VFW Post 6772 in Spencerville, where he was an active member of its Color Guard. He retired from General Dynamics Lima Tank Plant. He and Jean enjoyed playing cards almost daily at the Kewpee West for several years with very special friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Darryl Potts officiating. Military rites will follow the service in the funeral home,  conducted by the Army Honor Guard and Spencerville Veterans. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM Monday and after 9:30 AM Tuesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spencerville Area Veterans Park.
