WILLIAM HUGHES

LIMA — William K. Hughes, 91, died at 4:10 a.m. Feb. 8, 2014, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville, with his family by his side.

He was born May 7, 1922, in Lima to Evan and May Ketner Hughes, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 1, 1958, he married Jo Ann Comstock, who died March 11, 2000.

Mr. Hughes was a graduate of Lima Central High School and received a degree in business from The Ohio State University . He was an Army veteran of World War II , serving in Europe. He had been a stockbroker at American Investments and the Oberwise Co., both in Lima. He had been a member of Fort Amanda Masonic Lodge 706, the Scottish Rite of Columbus, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Veterans of Foreign Wars .

Survivors include two sons, Mark W. Hughes, of Findlay, and Todd E. Hughes, of Lima; two grandchildren, Nikkie Hughes, of Spencerville, and Joseph "Joey" Faurot, of Lima.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. The Rev. Andrew J. Atkins will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Ottawa River Cemetery, Rimer.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
