WILLIAM SUTHERLY

SPENCERVILLE — William A. "Bill" Sutherly, 77, of Spencerville, died at 12:43 PM Friday, March 25,2016 in the St.Rita's Medical Center Emergency Dept., following an extended illness.

He was born November 10, 1938 in Kenton, Ohio, and raised by John and Pearl Cohee, who are deceased. On November 30, 19 57 he married Shirley Ann Good, who died March 19, 2002.

Bill attended the Elida High School and then served in the Army in Germany from 1956 to 1959.

He was a truck driver for over 45 years with no serious accidents for the Gressel, Central Soya and Flex Foam Companies. He was a life member of Bowersock Bros. VFW Post 6772 in Spencerville and loved to play golf.

Surviving are three children; Art (Kelly) Sutherly of Lima; Nancy (Harold Layman) Mulholland and Sue (Doug) Vondenhuevel, both of Spencerville; nine grandchildren; Nicole (Jeremy) Sherman of Spencerville; Kevin Lane, Cory Sutherly, Cody Sutherly, all of Lima; Rob (Kayla Hagerman) Wieter and Ryan (Jenna Wendel) Wieter, both of Spencerville; Charles Vondenhuevel of Ft. Wayne and Gage Layman of Spencerville; eight great grandchildren; Samantha Smith, Haley and Page Sherman, Karlyn and Colson Smith, Gavin and Eli Wieter and Cali Vondenhuevel and his Special Friend, Mary Savidge of Spencerville.

Bill was preceded in death by three siblings; Dick, Jim and Betty, his son-in-law Doug Mulholland and granddaughter Krysti Sutherly.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating and the Spencerville Veterans conducting military rites at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 until 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
