April 4, 1929 – November 14, 2021
Spencerville; William R. "Bill" Tracy, 92, of Spencerville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 9:07 PM Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Meadows of Delphos.
He was born April 4, 1929 in Russells Point to the late William and Helen Sullivan Tracy. He married Dora Hammond Tracy December 15, 1957, who died January 16, 2007.
Bill graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1951 and then joined the Army during the Korean War. He is a life member of the Bowersock Bros. VFW Post 6772 of Spencerville. He retired from the Lima Engine Plant of Ford Motor Company in 1987 with 30 years service to Ford.
Surviving are his daughter Kathy (Joe Price) Harter of Spencerville, son William E. Tracy of Lima, seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, a step daughter Judy Baker of Berea, Ky. 5 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are 3 sisters, 1 brother, 2 great grandchildren, 2 step daughters and 1 stepson and I step grandson.
Bill became an ordained minister May 11, 1997 and he loved the Lord. He was a member of the Celebration Church in Lima.
In his younger years he had coached his stepson Larry Johnson along with the Spencerville Little League Baseball. Later in years he coached Lima City Softball teams and umpired several years. He loved Cleveland Indians baseball, OSU, Browns and Bengals football and Indiana and Kentucky basketball. Above all, his family was his Love.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Brandon Green officiating. The US Army Honor Guard and the Spencerville Veterans will conduct military rites at the funeral home. Burial will then follow in the Spencerville Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 PM Thursday and after 10 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencerville Youth Athletic Assn. (SYAA)
